The small sensor is placed under the skin in-office and stays there for a full year. It uses an external transmitter worn over the skin with a light adhesive patch.
Unlike other systems:
The external transmitter can be removed and reattached
If you take it off, you can put it back on again
You are not forced to discard and replace the sensor
This flexibility makes it more convenient and cost-effective for many insulin-dependent patients.
